We started the process on Saturday, March 25 with a clean-up day. We had 18 volunteers show up, and we finished in less than two hours. It was a tremendous success and set us up for planting the next weekend.
Take a look at a photo collage of the day below, courtesy of our president, Curt Juran.
Aren’t you tired of seeing all those vacant lots on Lodi’s East side, just sitting there unused? So are we – and we’ve decided to do something about it.
We’re Greening Lodi, and we’re a brand new non-profit here in Lodi, Calif. We’re a group of long-time Lodi residents, concerned citizens and East side natives who want to see this part of town (now called the Heritage District) reach its true potential.
We’re just like you; there are no professionals among us. We’re teachers, parents, retirees and even kids. We’re everyone who wants a cleaner, safer and more connected Heritage district. And we’ve already begun – check out some of the photos of our first community garden at the corner of Elm & Main streets.
Interested? Feel free to send us an email, attend a meeting or just come see our next project. We’d love to have you!
